The Royal New Zealand Ballet returns in 2021 with their much-loved regional touring programme, Tutus on Tour, presenting an enchanting summer programme. Enjoy the ‘White Swan’ pas de deux from Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake; Jules Perrot’s Pas de Quatre (1845), a gorgeous showpiece from the Romantic era; and two bold, colourful works by Andrea Schermoly and Sarah Foster-Sproull that were originally created for the Venus Rising season in 2020.

With fewer performance opportunities than usual, F.A. Dance Centre is thrilled to present “SPOTLIGHT”. Featuring some of the region’s top dancers performing to the best of Broadway’s Showstoppers as well as hits from movies, this show will take you on a journey.

The Nutcracker ballet is a magical, festive, family treat about a Christmas gathering and a young girl's dream about her gift of a nutcracker transforming into a handsome young man. Her prince takes her on a journey to the Kingdom of Sweets, where they are welcomed by the Sugar Plum Fairy.

I am Lesley Bandy, the Artistic Director of Primarily Dance. I performed the role of the Sugar Plum Fairy for many years, and now I want youngsters here in Nelson/Tasman to experience the magic of Tchaikovsky's music and the spectacle of this wonderful ballet.

The new and exciting point of difference with this production is that it will be a true community and collaborative affair - involving dance students from Nelson and Top of the South onstage with professional dancers, performers from some of our diverse cultural communities adding their colour and flavour, costumes rented and fabricated in the area, and last but not least, local artists designing and fabricating the sets and props so necessary to the story and the magic of the whole ballet.

The New Zealand Army Band is hugely excited to be going on tour presenting, ‘New Zealand Army Band Live’. This follows our recent sold-out concert in the Christchurch Town Hall post lockdown. During the lockdown, the Army Band kept busy by producing many online “bubble band” recordings. These weekly recordings were watched by more than two million viewers from all around the world.

‘New Zealand Army Band Live’ will be a memorable evening of big band, classical and brass band music featuring our world-class vocal and instrumental soloists. We pride ourselves on our concerts being family friendly and like to include something for everybody. The Army Band is also delighted to support the local community by donating 50% of the profits from the concert to Nelson City Brass.

Nelson Youth Theatre Company presents the irrepressible comic strip heroine in one of the world's best-loved, award-winning musicals.

Based on the popular comic strip and adapted from the Tony Award-winning Best Musical, Annie JR. features everyone’s favourite little redhead in her very first adventure.

With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone's hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930's New York City. Annie is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of an orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan. Annie eventually foils Miss Hannigan's plans for her, and finds a new home and family with billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy.

At only an hour long, Annie JR is the perfect show to introduce young children to the world of theatre!

It's 1955, and into a square little American town rides a guitar-playin' motorcycle ridin' roustabout who changes everything and everyone he meets in this hip-swivelling, lip-curling musical comedy.

Featuring the music of Elvis Presley and a script that's packed to the seams with comic one liners, Nelson Youth Theatre Company will have you jumpin' out of your blue suede shoes with such classics as "Heartbreak Hotel", "Jailhouse Rock", "Teddy Bear", "Hound Dog", "It's Now or Never", "Devil in Disguise", "One Night With You", "Don't Be Cruel" and of course the title song "All Shook Up".

Saddle up the family and come along for a trip back in time to the very beginnings of classic Rock 'n' Roll and celebrate the magic of the music of "The King".

Sinbad the Sailor has retired from his voyages and is now sitting around his palace feeling just a bit fed up. His knees ache and his back hurts; the result of all the wild adventures of his youth. That is, until one day, he gets a cry for help from an old friend, Betsy High Boots - the Pirate Queen. Will he be able to go adventuring again? Not without some help from his son, Sindabit.

This new family pantomime has all the traditional fun and audience interaction you’d expect; there will be singing, dancing, terrible puns, mermaids and a camel. What more could you want?
