The annual SOUNDSTAGE end of year variety concert is here again and this year we are heading to New York.

The singing, acting, dance and music students of SOUNDSTAGE will take us on a trip from Nelson to New York performing songs and items inspired by the promise of fame and fortune on the Great White Way. "If you can make it there, you'll make it any where!"

Produced By Atamira Dance Company

New Zealand’s leading Māori contemporary dance company, Atamira creates works inspired by Aotearoa’s history, legends and contemporary issues; drawing from the dancers’ own personal stories and whakapapa.

Kaha is a programme of short dance works celebrating the strength
and pride of Māori contemporary dance, choreographed by members of the company.

This hauntingly beautiful dance work explores the intimate human stories left in the wake of an unimaginable tragedy.

On a quiet spring afternoon in 2008, an earthquake measuring eight on the Richter scale, devastated the Sichuan province of China, killing over 69,000 people. It was natural disaster on a scale that defied imagination - but for millions of Chinese survivors, there was nothing for it but to pick up the pieces and carry on.

Join us on this journey From A to B where dreams and visions take us to where we want to be. This colourful fast paced performance showcases a wide variety of music from the 50s through to current favourites. Over 100 dancers ranging from pre-schoolers to adults, perform classical ballet, modern jazz and contemporary dance styles in a superbly choreographed and brightly costumed extravaganza.

From A to B is directed by Peta Spooner who is celebrating 30 years of dance in Nelson!
