It’s a Frozen party!
Frozen 1 and Frozen 2 are undoubtedly two of Disney's greatest animated movies of all time. The soundtrack to the movies is stunning, and while the big songs like 'Let it go' have probably been overplayed in your house, you have to admit they are now classics!
Following a sell-out tour in July 2021, Showcase Entertainment Group, the producers of Dr Seuss's The Cat in the Hat and Madagascar The Musical, are bringing the magic of these songs to Theatre Royal Nelson for the first time in a concert for the young and young at heart.
Let It Go features the sisters Anna and Elsa in full costume, along with some of their popular friends from the Frozen movies. So feel free to dress up as Anna or Elsa... or even Olaf and come and enjoy this wonderful concert production of the songs from Frozen 1 and 2.
Please note this is a 55-minute concert, not a musical or dramatic production. Let It Go is not in any way affiliated or endorsed by Disney.

Vivaldi The Four Seasons
Piazzolla orch. Leonid Desyatnikov Cuatro Estaciones Porteñas
Enjoy a taste of foreign climes in this programme of beloved string works. Vivaldi’s Four Seasons is a favourite, and famously paint each of the Italian seasons in vibrant sound and instrumental colour.
Astor Piazzolla’s Cuatro Estaciones Porteñas (also known as The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires) transports us to the steamy streets of Argentina, cleverly combining Vivaldi’s most recognisable tunes with the sensual tango sounds which characterised Piazzolla’s ear-catching style.
Directed by NZSO concertmaster Vesa-Matti Leppänen, this programme will also feature fellow NZSO violinists Anna van der Zee, Malavika Gopal, Simeon Broom and Alan Molina playing a ‘season’ each. With its lush string sounds and music so evocative of faraway locales, this concert promises to be a transporting pleasure for the senses.

Nadia Reid is praised the world over for her intimate, complex songwriting. She is described by The Guardian as 'an understated, wise guide through uncertain territory', while her lyrics are called 'allegorical... brutally honest' by The Revue. What brings Reid's lyrics to life is her unique voice and accompanying soundscapes that seem to at once evoke the rugged beaches and mountains of Aotearoa, the Port Chalmers harbour of her home, and the roaming, open territory of the road.
In March of 2020, Reid released her third full-length album 'Out of My Province' via her own label Slow Time Records in New Zealand and Spacebomb for the rest of the world. Performing a handful of release shows just prior to the March lockdown meant there was a brief moment to celebrate the release. The Line of Best Fit declared it Reid's "most polished album to date" with Uncut calling it "her best album yet", awarding it 8/10. Due to COVID-19 disruptions, Reid and her band headed into a Dunedin recording studio at Chicks Hotel in early 2021 to begin work on album four. Their May opera house and theatre tour will showcase Nadia's exceptional body of musical works, as well as have a sneak preview of some of her new creations before signing off to work on finishing her fourth studio album due late 2022.
