GLORIOUS is a brilliantly funny script, a delicious verbal cat-and-mouse with the rat-tat-tat of a Katharine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy comedy ...
Gloria Lord (Anna Burns) is a hurricane in high heels who wreaks her particular brand of mayhem on the life of Jimmy (Troy Warring) an aspiring writer working at one of her daddy's cocktail parties as a waiter. After a chance meeting Gloria decides that she's going to marry Jimmy - no matter what he says.
Audiences will enjoy the unique mix of slapstick, fast-paced smouldering dialogue and whip crack wit of GLORIOUS by Richard Huber (finalist in the Playmarket NZ play awards).

What is a MAMIL? Well, you need look no further than the Oxford Dictionary to find out. It stands for a Middle Aged Man In Lycra.
Bryan Cook is a property developer who has accumulated a small fortune building leaky homes. He’s stressed out, self-medicating and self-loathing, killing himself to increase his bank balance while decreasing his golf score.
When things fall apart, he joins a men’s cycling group to relieve stress – and makes a few startling discoveries in various cracks and crevices.
Achingly funny and poignant, MAMIL presents the male mid-life crisis in all its lurid glory.
“This production will be one of the highlights of the year. It is a must see show for men and women.” Dominion Post
D'Arranged Marriage is a one man show with something for everyone: characters that will make you laugh until you cry, a few Bollywood-style song and dance routines and a wickedly funny look at Indian culture and life in New Zealand.
D'Arranged Marriage is the story of Sanjay Gupta, the New Zealand born son of Indian immigrants Manhur and Pushpa. 29 year-old Sanjay lives at home, works in his father's corner shop, dreams of a career in stand-up comedy, and strenuously avoids the issue of an arranged marriage. His nagging parents finally get the better of him, but to his surprise, he discovers that Neenu, the prospective bride, is the one!
Unfortunately, complications (and hilarity) ensue... Adding to Sanjay's trials and tribulations are Dilip, a gimpy uncle who yearns for the perfect Indian woman; the smooth-talking, sleazy playboy Rundeep; and Mr. Dave Patel, Johnny Walker (and the British Empire's) best friend, who is Sanjay's potential father-in-law.
With all 8 characters performed by one versatile actor, you have the funniest parody of Indian family life since Bend it Like Beckham, and what critics have dubbed a "roller coaster ride to laughsville." Performed in 7 countries over 200 times, D'Arranged Marriage is a proven international and critical success.

About The Map...
At the start of the night a map is created. You, the audience member, will get to offer up ideas as to what the map will look like. A map of a village will emerge along with details of the structures and people that exist there. This is the stuff from which our completely original story will arise.
The show is entirely improvised based on the map that is drawn and the ideas that are gifted to the performance by audience members. Our professional improvisors will bring the map to life, becoming characters and revealing the secrets that are tucked away in the nooks and crannies of this imagined world.
Get along to the Theatre Royal and create history with... The Map!
