“Indian Ink's magical new show embodies qualities that make us proud to be Kiwis” NZ Herald, 2013
Karukam Island is the tropical paradise of everyone's dreams but Sidu can't wait to escape! In the city they said he looked like Freddie Mercury but here he's Freddie Nobody. A new eco resort promises life changing riches and every village miser, entrepreneur, bride and priest is jostling for their slice of the dream. The island finds its fate in the hands of Sidu-who everyone agrees is a very odd fish.
A long awaited follow up to 2010’s Guru of Chai, those in the theatre world hungry for a new work from the renowned theatre company were not disappointed. Audiences crammed into Q Theatre and Jacob Rajan and Justin Lewis, in true Indian Ink fashion, left an indelible imprint on their hearts. Traveling to far flung places and delving into ancient theatrical forms they have brought back a tale that is neither old nor new but reflects a world changing faster than even our dreams can keep up with.
