"Want a future that'll make your family proud? What about success and happiness? You'll find all this and more at Camp Mana."

A new door opens for Hemi and Anna as they’re accepted into the prestigious ‘Camp Mana,’ a program designed to prepare promising school leavers to succeed in the ‘real’ world. The pair come from a low socio-economic area and are given the opportunity to defy the odds. But there's always a catch - how much will they have to give up to succeed?

"Code-Switch" is a collaborative live cinema experience combining film, dance and live stage theatre that explores what happens to young people when dreams, values, and social contexts clash. Follow the illusions and disillusionment of two students whose lives are a little bit like all of ours: Hemi, the artistic and naive blank slate, and Anna, the ambitious and determined over-achiever. From choosing between passion and financial stability, to juggling the pressures of family and culture, the decisions they make will have consequences - whether they like it or not.

The ultimate live cult film experience!

LIVE LIVE CINEMA takes four actor-musicians and pushes their multi-tasking skills to the limit. While Roger Corman's 1960 comic and macabre film plays behind them, the four performers work at break-neck speed to re-voice multiple characters in perfect lip synch, whilst playing a brand new score and creating live sound effects.

With our stars leaping from piano to guitar, bass to door bell, to that thing that makes the sound of footsteps - this is LIVE LIVE CINEMA's most dangerous 4-D movie yet.

It's a wild ride - where you gonna look?

B-Rabbit - New Beginnings. Old Problems.

A night to see the special pre-screening of the pilot episode, hear about the ups and downs of the filming process, thank the sponsors, introduce the cast and crew plus there will be a Q&A session after to talk about the future of B-Rabbit in Nelson.

The First TV Pilot written, filmed, and edited in Nelson, New Zealand. Loosely based on true experiences of the creator Laura Irish and her offbeat family, B-Rabbit is a hilarious, invasive depiction of the peaks and valleys of immigrating to New Zealand and the life you desperately tried to leave behind.

When Laura immigrates to Nelson, New Zealand as a young mum, she's relieved to leave her American life behind to start a new adventure and identity. Her new life is shaken when her extremely uncouth, impulsive brother, Bradley, self-nicknamed B-Rabbit, unexpectedly arrives in New Zealand and Laura has no choice but to try to integrate him successfully into New Zealand culture with the help and hinderance of those around her.

Overtime, the relationships and shenanigans of the four main characters bring them together into a group of multi-cultural unlikely anti-heroes who team up against various local foes.

B-Rabbit is the dramatisation of Laura Irish's relationship with her family viewed through the prism of her move to New Zealand and her current life in Nelson. B-Rabbit is developed, written, directed and produced by a team of Nelsonian professional comedy improvisers including Laura Irish, Michael O'Malley, Doug Brooks, Steve Wilson, Daniel Allan, and award winning journalist, Charles Anderson.

Purple Cake Day supported by the WOW & Classic Cars Museum invites you to the screening of the multi-award winning film by Jennifer Arnold, 'A Small Act'. Proceeds from the film support the Kenyan charity featured in the film, the Hilde Back Education Fund, along with children's education initiatives in Haiti and Nepal.

A Small Act is a compelling story of how one small act can change lives. The feature-length documentary follows the intersecting lives of a Holocaust survivor in Sweden, the Kenyan man whose education she funded and three hard-working, endearing children from poor families in rural Kenya.

'A Small Act' is one of those films that will remain with you long after the credits have rolled - it's truly inspirational!. You get to meet and learn about the lives of children who are eager to learn, who aspire and are capable to become doctors, engineers, teachers, pilots, researchers and leaders. Without an education they have no future, but with a little help they get the opportunity to go to school and this changes not only their lives but that of their families and communities. There are things we can do and should do to help children born into poverty. Providing them with education opportunities through small acts of generosity is relatively easy for us and is life changing for them.' - Emily Sanson-Rejouis, Purple Cake Day Founder.

The screening will be followed by informal discussion session with Purple Cake Day founders. With a complimentary glass of wine kindly donated by Aronui & Tohu Wines, along with WOW Gallery viewing; Makes for a wonderful afternoon out.

Show your support for Purple Cake Day by coming out to the WOW & Classic Cars Museum screening on October 19th & 26th.
