The Theatre Royal offers unique, character spaces for all events including, corporate cocktail parties, private gatherings, fundraising events, seminars and product launches. Our friendly staff will meet your presentation needs and ensure your event is both memorable and enjoyable.
Events can be connected to our ongoing theatre programme or tailored, one-off, events specifically for your group or organization.
In conjunction with our catering partners, food and beverage is made easy.
Conferences
Conferences within theatres utilising the non performance time provides something truly unique for your conference or meeting.
The Theatre Royal, like many theatres around the country is available during 'Dark' periods when the theatre has no running performance or days on which productions do not run. In general there is daytime availability and usually at least one day a week for evening/late events (usually Monday). You may have an opportunity to present your conference on a very exciting set which will add just the right amount of drama!
By working around productions we can offer fantastic surroundings that are truly 'out of the box'.
Naturally there is specialist lighting and sound available and this can be supplemented for your conference, together with the availability of fine catering and of course the option to include a show in the evening!
We can also help with Hotel Accommodation, Guest Speakers and a full suite of Technical Services.
The Theatre Royal Nelson seating capacity is 342 which includes 1 wheelchair position in the front row.

The Theatre Royal offers an array of options from our catering partners. Menus can be tailor-made to suit your event. Please note that menus are seasonal and may change.
Equipment Hire
We can help you to create a memorable event by assisting you with your lighting, sound and staging needs. All equipment hire and event staging requirements will be quoted to include staffing charges and consumables.
